Steven Hairfield, Ph.D ~ At the beginning of his lectures and workshops, Dr. Steven L. Hairfield likes to ask his audience:

What if what you term as God, heard everything you thought and considered it a request for it to give you what you were thinking? Would you change the way that you think?

He also asks this: 'Do you feel as though something is about to happen?' These questions generally trigger a myriad of thoughts and surprise in the visions and minds of the listeners present. It opens the doors to the world of spirituality and consciousness of being, and it indeed sets the thought process in motion. He himself was asked these by one of his teachers while in the Far East.

Dr. Hairfield has an interesting and fascinating background. Having been raised in a very 'normal' environment, he decided to serve his country in the military, during a rather troubled era. His duties and expertise led him to Vietnam. Anyone who was there can tell you that it was not a pleasant experience. His search for peaceful answers and higher understanding guided his steps within the walls of a Zen Buddhist monastery in Quang Ngai, South Vietnam, where he would take refuge and study whenever he could. His natural curiosity, blended with a very acute intuitive sense led him to deeper questions of life and the purpose of self. The monks began to insist that he should learn of Issa. He then learned that Issa was in fact Jesus. He later learned that Issa, Jesus, had spent much time in what is now known today as India, Pakistan, Ladak, Nepal, and Tibet before returning to the Middle East to carry out His mission. This truly inspired his personal search for knowledge and a passion to somehow recreate the Master's 18 years not mentioned in the Bible. He had set a goal that would intrigue and shock him later, but first, he had to understand what made the human mind work in the fashion that it does. Upon his return to the United States he studied for and received a B.A. in Psychology. Then pushed by his dream for Universal Truth, he travelled to India following an inner urge which led him to his greatest teachers and lessons, Tibetan Masters. They guided him through India, Nepal, and twice into Tibet, they smuggled him into the later as it was Red Chinese with closed borders at the time. While in this part of the world he adapted to the life of a monk, and for many years he continued his research in the Far East and the path of Jesus while proving to himself that indeed He had been there studying. While there Dr. Hairfield honed the talents Spirit had given him learning many healing techniques and became a Reiki Master and the techniques of focusing energy for higher purpose he now teaches these techniques to his students and audiences throughout the world.

When he returned home once more after working with his eastern teachers he wanted to understand the belief system and studied the greatest belief system of all and received an M.A. in Religion and Theology, becoming quite interested and fascinated by the field of Metaphysics in the process. He knew by what he had already learned that there was another message contained in the idea of religion and the Bible. Thus some years later he went back to the books and received his Doctorate in Metaphysics. Through his years of studies with Zen and Tibetan Monks, Ishaya Monks, as well as the Cree and Blackfoot Native Traditions, this true American Monk offers an unparalleled approach to understanding how we influence our own paths in life and why we experience what we do. In his lectures, workshops, TV and Radio appearances, he enjoys sharing his unique blend of philosophies to assist others in the attainment of their spiritual goals. His only desire is that all people find consciousness. In 2000 he was inspired to communicate his accumulated knowledge and experience to the world through a book. It is now in its second printing and is titled Once Upon a Parable – A Journey into Life. Dr. Hairfield has poured his love for humankind into this explicit work. He has completed his second work called: Return to Innocence – Messages from the Ancients, a spiritual guide to a better way of living life and how the original messages were shifted from their original intention of the universe to an external physical reality. This book answers the mysteries of the Bible and the Master Himself. It is based on 37 years of thorough research that led him all over the world. Diane Goble lives on the side of a mountain in the eastern Sierra Nevada Range in California, and her latest passion is scenic photography from Mammoth Lakes, California to the Cascade Range in Bend/Sisters, Oregon... But her life's work involves the field of death and dying. She has been a psycho-spiritual counsellor for over 20 years, has written several books, and has recently developed a training program to teach alternative practitioners, coaches, counsellors, and ministers how to teach others the Art of Conscious Dying into the Light so they can become Transition Guides for their loved ones and friends.

Diane came to the field of conscious dying as a result of having had a near-death experience 36 years ago during which she was shown the process of transition and given information to help her pursue her spiritual mission as a human being. Since then she has spent many years studying and meditating — evolving toward higher consciousness and sharing what has been revealed to her through her writings and her web sites. This is her spiritual path. In her human life, she has three children, five grandchildren and a dog named Spirit.

Marilyn Strong on Toward The Light 14.12!

Marilyn C. Strong has a B.A. in Religion and Adult Education through Antioch University West and an M.A. in Spirituality and Culture from Matthew Fox’s Institute for Culture and Creation Spirituality.

Marilyn has worked in the areas of educational design and development and in the areas of group facilitation, ritual, music, and celebration. She was on staff at the Chinook Learning Center on Whidbey Island as Director of Education for seven years, facilitating their non-residential, nine-month Core Studies Program and their residential program, Spirit and Culture. Scholars in residence included Thomas Berry, Brian Swimme, Brother David Steindl-Rast, David Spangler, ritualist Elizabeth Cogburn and singer Susan Osborn.

Marilyn then went on to co-create and co-facilitate with Renie Hope, the Gaia Spirit Rising Program, a nine-month long women’s spiritual growth program that ran for eight years. Guest presenters in the program over the years included China Galland, Merlin Stone, Christine Downing, Demetra George, Luisah Teish, Dorothy Fadiman, and Denise Lynn.

She also created and co-facilitated with Jerry Wennstrom the six-month program, Thresholds: Exploring Passageways to the Soul through Dreamwork, Ritual and the Creative Process. Guest presenters in this program included Marion Woodman, Christina Baldwin, David Whyte and John O’Donohue.

Recently, Marilyn toured the country with Jerry, working more in-depth with the material of Jerry’s book and video and co-leading workshops together. She also facilitates group and private ritual, is a Jungian-oriented spiritual counsellor, an ordained minister, and a ceremonialist with a keen interest in depth psychology, dream analysis, Alchemy, and the healing process that comes through making ritual art. Marilyn facilitates weddings and memorial ceremonies, and her work has also taken her into the area of death and dying, supporting friends in the dying process with both voice and ritual. For many years she was an annual guest presenter at the Women of Wisdom Conferences in Seattle.

Marilyn has also released a CD of her chants, songs, and drumming, Songs for Sophia, which is available upon request. Her singing can be heard in the sound track of the film, In the Hands of Alchemy. She brings depth of understanding, chanting and excellent ritual creation to any event.

Betty Kovacs on Toward The Light 7 Dec!

Betty J. Kovacs received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine, in Comparative Literature and Theory of Symbolic Language. She has studied and taught in Europe and the United States. She is Professor Emerita, Pasadena City College, Pasadena, California, where she taught literature, writing, mythology and symbolic language for over twenty-five years. She has studied the spiritual traditions of prehistory and indigenous cultures and has worked with shamans from the Amazon and the Andes in Peru. She has also served many years on the Board of Directors of the Jung Society of Claremont in California. Dr. Kovacs has been interviewed on radio and local cable TV. She is author of The Miracle of Death and 'Journey of the Mothers' in Earthwalking Sky Dancers. Recent seminar series include Deeper Orders of Reality: Creating Our Future and The Feminine Dimension of the Divine.

Tim O’Reilly grew up in the Queens region of New York City, USA. He is the producer, director and writer of the documentary, Round Trip: the Near-Death Experience. Tim studied painting and drawing at the Arts Students League of N.Y.C, then studied Film at the School of Visual Arts in N.Y.C. and graduated with a B.F.A., in film.

Tim had a near-death-like experience (NDLE) when he was ten years old. Although Tim didn’t give his NDLE too much thought, he believes it inspired him to make Round Trip, thirty years later.

Round Trip: the Near-Death Experience, endorsed by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, originally released on VHS in 1996, has been re-released in DVD on July 2008, with English Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (SDH) and Spanish and French subtitles.

Seeing this film brought tears to my eyes straight away — taking me back to my own near-death episodes and how, no matter what and after so many, many years, I'm still so deeply affected by the rich substance of all of these heartfelt testimonies from fellow experiencers. When you look into the eyes of these individuals you can clearly see how transformed they are as a result of their NDEs and the fact that the fear of death is totally absent. Jan W. Sonia Barrett, like many, has been a seeker of more expansive knowledge since childhood. Chris Everard Couldn't Be Reached!

In only a three-week period, I've had two 'no-shows' on Toward The Light — Steve Mitchell on 19 October and now Chris Everard on 9 November. I did receive a warning from Steve in advance that his telephone and internet were down, but he had his mobile. However, even his mobile failed us that day and we were unable to make contact. Still, Steve was kind enough to alert me that he was temporarily out of commission — and these things do happen — but this was not the case with Chris. He just simply could not be reached, period.

When I had Chris Everard on Toward The Light back on 31 August, he was interested in being on my show again, so I booked him for 9th November. Actually it was his idea to be on my show yesterday — even though he was travelling to the Vatican on the previous days. When I did express concern, he assured me he'd be back in time for the show and he also had other show engagements booked upon his return from the Vatican. I had his mobile number as well so I hoped we were covered...

When we tried to ring both of Chris's numbers and still couldn't get him no matter what, I was quite put off, needless to say. Why didn't CE have the decency to contact me and postpone or cancel the show as Steve had had the kindness to do? I tend to hold good manners and decent human courtesy in high regard and when people fail to display simple thoughtful behaviour, I find little or no real excuse for it.

It seems that several people — especially some who have become more 'high-profile' or well-known — often become too ego-driven and self-centred, which results in a lot of thoughtless behaviour. In my way of thinking, there's no excuse for this. We are all having the human experience on this plane and no one is more 'superior' or 'important' than another, just because of one's so-called 'status' or 'station' in life, etc. David Icke, for example, is extremely well-known; yet he was kind enough to ring me and let me know that he couldn't make a show when he was suddenly taken ill. But, bless him, I was granted enough time to replace him for that show and we simply rescheduled, which is perfectly fine!

Why CE wouldn't have granted me the same courtesy to contact me and let me know that he'd not be able to make the show after all, I do not know. He could have postponed and it would have been fine, as we would have rescheduled. I realise that things happen — especially when one is travelling — but so much of the time this type of behaviour has been out of sheer neglect and discourtesy, that's all.

When you're in the media, there's a certain etiquette that should be followed and, with one who's been on numerous film and radio appearances, you'd think he'd know the protocol and display these basic courtesies.

I am going to give Chris the benefit of the doubt and allow him some time to contact me and let me know what happened — why he wasn't available for his guest appearance on my show and why he failed to contact me in advance, then. So far, there's been no word from Chris ... and if I don't hear from him within a reasonable amount of time, I will be left with no choice but to not have him back on Toward The Light.

I endeavour to be very professional and responsible in the production of this radio programme. I spend countless dedicated hours in putting this tremendous show together and am passionate about it; so it's awkward when we have these mishaps — especially when listeners are tuned in expecting to hear a guest! Alas, some things just can't be helped...

My sincere apologies to all of my listeners for this. It does happen that a certain guest will be a 'no show' or 'stand me up' — Ned Dougherty was one such individual who completely stood me up without a single word — but thank goodness this is a rare occurrence. I will say that I feel deeply disappointed when a guest or potential guest is not exercising integrity. It only takes a moment to make a call or send an eMail. Courteous communication is vital in this work and in our lives.

The simple recipe, if we're going to fare well in this world, is communication, co-operation and love. :)

Chris Everard on Toward The Light 9 November!

Chris Everard ~ He is Britain’s most successful documentary film-maker. He is the only British director making feature-length documentaries for cinema audiences and the only British director to have late show slots every weekend at cinemas in Los Angeles, New York, Paris and Rome simultaneously. A Real Joy, As Always...

It was such a joy having Peter Shockey back on Toward The Light. The events that led to his producing the film, Life After Life, are quite remarkable and clearly, it was meant to be. He details his uncanny ability to produce special effects with light and being able to capture the essence (or close to it, anyway) of being in the tunnel ... or on the Other Side ... and enveloped by the Light during a near-death episode. It was as a result of this, plus his having had a profound spiritually transformative experience in his youth ... that convinced Raymond Moody that Peter was, indeed, the right film producer to create a movie version of his best-selling book.

The love and the optimism held by all of us was profound ... and it was so easy to share not only the truth of what is taking place in our world, but the tremendous hope and opportunity that await us in future! These dear souls are such endearing examples of the triumph of love over fear and, when we can remember Who we are ... and our divine heritage, nothing whatsoever can really harm or destroy us in any way. And the times that we are living in now are providing a tremendous opportunity to prove that very fact!

My heartfelt gratitude to Alfred, Cathy & David for sharing this wonderful dialogue with me for all to hear. As you well know, the lot of you are very dear to my heart.

Rick Madison ~ I was born in 1961 in Jasper, Alabama. At six months of age, I fell off a sofa and went into a coma for six days. Prayer 'warriors' in my family began to pray and intercede for me. God intervened in my behalf and brought me through.

At five years of age, I was shot at, several times, by a great uncle who had lost his mind. He shot my grandmother four times and Jesus raised her from her deathbed a week later. Jesus kept me safe, as I hid in the house. When I was eight years old, I was almost killed in a public laundromat. I was playing hide-and-seek with a friend. I had climbed into a large commercial dryer to hide. A group of thugs walked in and they saw me in the dryer. They braced the door shut and began searching for the proper change. One of the girls, who was with them, fought for me and begged the others not to start the machine. As they all left in a hurry, the girl ran back in and opened the door for me.

After many accidents and near-death experiences, I gave my life to Jesus at 10 years of age. I graduated from Leeds High School in Alabama in 1980. After finishing school, I was introduced to various drugs and alcohol. I stopped worshipping God and followed the world. However, God was still drawing me back to Him by His Spirit. At age 23, I had a very successful air-conditioning and heating business, but I did not have joy and peace.

My maintenance company repaired equipment and kept the health department happy for over 100 restaurants. Though I was making a lot of money, I was wasting it in the night clubs and party scene. I was headed for a rude awakening.

Visiting Death

On April 13, 1986, I was involved in an car accident, a head-on collision. I was pronounced DOA at Vanderbilt University Hospital. I received numerous broken bones such as a broken neck, ribs, jaw, hip, and a crushed foot. I had a torn aorta artery, a ruptured spleen and a punctured lung. I remained in a coma for 27 days. Doctors advised my family to make funeral arrangements, but the 'prayer warriors' in my family believed Jesus could raise me up. I had an out-of-body experience. Jesus came to me and spoke to me. I sat up out of the coma. I walked out of a wheel chair ten weeks later. I was completely delivered from drugs, alcohol, and tobacco and filled with the Holy Ghost. I hope you get this complete testimony in my book entitled, Raised from the Dead or the cassette tape/CD entitled Walking Miracle Testimony. I studied under my pastor who also evangelised.

For an entire year, I watched, listened, studied the Bible, and learned how to flow in the Holy Spirit. I learned how to make alter calls, and pray for people to receive from God. I began evangelising in 1987 and started to travel, conducting revivals all across the United States. Many miracles occurred in my meetings and I started praying for people in their homes. As a result, I prayed for 16 people in comas and 14 have awakened! Six of those had been brain-dead. Often when God delivers you from something, he births that same kind of ministry in you.

Raised from the Dead ~ The true story of a young man's personal testimony of being raised from his death bed. Richard L. Madison was involved in a head-on collision on April 13, 1986. While his belief system is very traditional and centred in fundamentalist Christian sentiments, I feel that his heart is in earnest … and he’s reaching people in his own circles that may not otherwise have been exposed to the NDE and the power of healing through faith and prayer. Kimberly Wencl is a wife to Roger and mother to Elizabeth and Anna and has been employed by SPX Corporation in Owatonna, Minnesota for 34 years, working in purchasing, sales, and customer service. MaAnna Stephenson ~ While currently known as a visionary thinker and new author, MaAnna Stephenson is a true Renaissance Woman. From an early age she was exposed to a myriad of influences, including her father's engineering and artistic endeavours, her maternal line of intuitives, and an intrinsic fascination with sound and music. Born in the small town of Humboldt, Tennessee, MaAnna began her journey as the youngest of three children with a huge age gap between her siblings and herself. Constant inclusion in the world of adults led to an early maturity and perhaps a different view of the world than most children experience—especially with the special gifts of the adults in her family. None of it was lost on young MaAnna. "My mother was also an intuitive, as were all the women in my immediate family. Having psychic senses was quite normal and the information derived from these methods was respected and adhered to. I became accustomed quite early to the fact that there were things—forces and powers—which could not be measured with a ruler but were just as real as anything I could see or touch."

An additional gift was bestowed by her paternal grandmother—the gift of music. Time spent at the organ with her grandmother, who was well known for her passion for music, ignited a flame in MaAnna as well. MaAnna transferred to Jackson Area Vocational and Technical School, acquiring a degree in Electronics. This led to a prestigious job offer and subsequent move to Dallas, Texas in 1984. She continued her work in sound engineering and music with several international hits to her credit. After a decade in the big city, she accepted a field assignment in Nashville, Tennessee, where she has resided since.

It was in Nashville that she began her writing career with a short story triggering what she calls 'soul memories'. In response to her experience, MaAnna began her self-education in the fields of technical, scientific and New-Age thought, exploring ancient mysticism and the rational sciences with equal emphasis. After a five-year preparation period, she was initiated as a Shamanka (feminine for shaman). Her training for this initiation further contributed to her education process as she continued her studies in reconciling the rational sciences and the intuitive arts. Matthew Delooze on Toward The Light 14.9!

Matthew Delooze was abducted by aliens as a child. He has also had a near-death experience. His experiences then have led him to uncover evidence that we are ruled covertly by reptilian aliens. Jerry Wennstrom ~ Artist, author Jerry Wennstrom was born in New York on January 13, 1950. He attended Rockland Community College and the State University of New Paltz. After producing a large body of work, at age 29 he set out to discover the rock-bottom truth of his life. For years he questioned the limits of his creative life as a studio painter. After destroying all of his art and giving away everything he owned, Jerry began a life of unconditional trust, allowing life to provide all that was needed. He lived this way for 15 years. In 1998 he moved to Washington State, where he eventually married Marilyn Strong and produced a large new body of art. Marilyn and Jerry’s charming Whidbey Island home is now filled with his unique interactive sculptures and paintings. Jerry also built a 40-foot meditation tower on his property, which is featured along with his story in a book by Laura Chester called Holy Personal.

Jerry's story is told in his book, The Inspired Heart: An Artist’s Journey of Transformation (foreword by Thomas Moore) published by Sentient Publications and in the Parabola Magazine documentary film called In the Hands of Alchemy: The Art and Life of Jerry Wennstrom. Studio Dialogue is a presentation Jerry did before a live audience with music by Susan McKeown, sung by Marilyn Strong. Jen-Irishu ~ Hello, my name is Jen-Irishu, which means Rainbow Bridge to God. (Iris means rainbow bridge and Hu is God).

From as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by 'why are we here?'. What is our purpose? I can recall asking my mother, 'if God made the world, who made God?' 'Blind faith, Jen', my mother replied.

As I approached my forties, after a broken marriage, my psychic abilities began to escalate. Fortunately for me I landed a position working in a Medical Clinic as a receptionist, where all of the girls who also worked there were spiritually gifted in many areas, such as Reiki, massage, meditation and yoga.

Wow! I had come home. All of those questions that I had been searching for were in one or other of their book shelves. I became a sponge. Yet, as I read, something in me knew what I was reading about. It was a 'knowing' like no other that I had ever experienced before. Yes, I had come home.

Robert Caplan ~ While serving aboard the U.S. Navy carrier USS Forestall flight crewmanb Robert Caplan experienced a dramatic death. Not only was he given last rights but he continued to move between worlds before coming to rest in this one. Robert Caplan holds degrees in Science Education, Social Work—both from Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan—and has training in pastoral psychotherapy; he has taught at all levels from kindergarten through college. A Powerful Show Despite Technical Glitches!

Whenever we do a transmission of Toward The Light, I make it a point to be as professional as possible, but sometimes there's nothing one can do when there are numerous technical problems, and today was simply one of those days that seemed destined to have one thing after the other go awry ... so we just had to grin and bear it and try to remain in good humour! Alas, it is more difficult when you're doing everything via telephone and the equipment just gets in a bad mood and decides not to cooperate! Phooey!

This show was one of those that was beset with problems from the get-go. Don (at BBS Radio) was having problems with the telephone lines and other equipment; plus the fact that he couldn't seem to make the connection when trying to ring my guest, Steve Mitchell in the UK. The show started late as a result and it was hard to hear each other, but Steve and I flowed into a good dialogue nonetheless.

I was very much appreciating the dialogue we had, as he was able to put the lofty experiences, facts and discoveries that I find utterly ineffable to describe into neat and clear scientific terms. It also helped that, indeed, we had so much in common—from both having very mystical and enchanting experiences since childhood—thus being focused on the spiritual path; we're both musicians, Reiki practitioners, researchers and writers, among other things. Another thing we've got in common is that we both wanted to figure out how and why things work the way they do—doing what we can to balance the experiences and discoveries with a clear understanding of them in ways that we can integrate them into the more 'tangible' realm, thus bridging the gap between various dimensions of reality. This, in tern can help one to realise that all of this is totally natural and part of the divine order.

In fact, it was wonderful to note, for example, that we even referred to a number of the same things such as the fact that we're living in a multiverse and being multi-dimensional and so on. We also spoke of energy and everything having a specific frequency. Both being in music made it easy to speak in a language that we're very familiar and resonate with. Still, Steve is way ahead of me in being able to explain all of this in scientific and even mathematical terms which is something I lack entirely.

All of this was brilliantly conveyed in his film, Dragons and Rings. Yes, the visuals are very necessary in order for this material to make proper sense and have meaning. When I saw Steve's film, I was so taken by its beautiful imagery and clear narration which he did himself. He taps upon so many things that I've been experiencing and speaking about for years; yet, again, he's able to put so much of this into scientific terms that I've never had the gift to convey—thus validating things in ways that make all this much easier to grasp for those who need things to not be quite so lofty or seemingly out of reach!

Sadly, as we were coming to the close of the programme, we somehow both got cut off, so I wasn't able to sign off and close the show properly. I couldn't acknowledge and thank Steve on the air for sharing his brilliant discoveries as he's sojourned on this magnificent journey that ultimately resulted in the production of Dragons and Rings. Again, it was just one of those days full of mishaps that were entirely beyond our control. Well, now I will, indeed, say thank you, Steve, for your kind sharing on the show!

The love was clearly there, in spite of the lack of a smooth transmission of Toward The Light.

Tomas Vieira & Nouk Sanchez on Toward The Light 27.7!

With my internet connection going down yet again, I was not able to put up the info about my forthcoming guest for this week's transmission of Toward The Light, in advance, as I usually do. Alas, everything happens for a reason—even that which seems chaotic and unfortunate—and with this type of thing happening ever so frequently of late, it's getting easier to simply surrender, 'go with the flow' and not get so put off or caught up by what may appear to be 'unfortunate' events or mishaps. So I acknowledged that I was 'out-of-commission' for a reason and just needed to do something else...

Tomas Vieira, author of Take Me To Truth was booked to be my featured guest this week on 27 July on Toward The Light, but I was delighted to find out that his partner/co-author, Nouk Sanchez, was also available to be on the show as well. As a result, I can now highlight both Tomas and Nouk—which would not have been the case if I'd put the profile up earlier, since I was totally unaware of her being able to join us. See, everything does happen for a reason! :)

I've got to admit that, due to moving house recently and still having all of my books packed in boxes, I was disappointed that I wasn't able to read Take Me To Truth in advance of the interview—which is my normal protocol before interviewing my guests on the show. However, I intuitively knew that I was already well aware of the content and powerful message contained within the pages of this fine book ... as a result of my own experiences. Sure enough, the conversations flowed so well, as if I had read the book in advance ... and the three of us had had previous discussions about all of this. Indeed, perhaps we have done telepathically and on other dimensions. Such was the ease and deep familiarity with the rich material covered in TMTT—not to mention the very warm exchange between us.

Another thing that made this dialogue so exciting is that I was able to validate everything that Tomas and Nouk brought up on account of my own experiences—as an NDEr and one who's had countless spiritually transformative experiences (STEs) and lived inter-dimensionally all of my life. Furthermore, what we all acknowledged is that one needn't have an NDE (or other potentially traumatic experience) in order to arrive at the simple truth conveyed in the book. It is as simple as suddenly being transported into the glorious light of divine love via meditation, playing music, gardening, being in the presence of a friend or having a lucid dream, for example, or just having one of those 'ah-hah!' moments.

There's such a powerful awakening going on all over the world and many people are spontaneously coming to the realisation that we are all divine and we are one—never separated or alone.

Take Me To Truth aims to uncover the lies that are brought on by the ego-mind, which is dominated and propelled by fear—that, in and of itself, is a lie, a monumental lie! Knowing that the ego, and what it claims, are totally false and not our true identity at all, is what ultimately will liberate us and bring us to true freedom.

Tomas Vieira, co-author of Take Me To Truth, was born in Hong Kong of Portuguese heritage and lived in Canada and the United States before settling in Australia. PMH Atwater ~ A Bold Pioneer in NDE Research!

It was truly a delight having PMH Atwater back on Toward The Light on 20^th July and it was just so easy to converse with a friend and fellow NDEr. In fact, my daughter stated, 'I enjoyed your show. You two are like listening to old friends having tea or something like that.' And it's true, we became instant friends—recognising each other on a soul level from the get-go.

PMH is not only an amazingly prolific author, a fellow NDEr and friend, she's been a tremendous role model for me. It's really because of her encouragement and example, that I've been able to give talks and even allow myself to be on the TV news whilst in Nashville. If anyone would have told me that I'd be a speaker or on television, I'd reply with 'you're out of your flipping mind!'—that's how adverse I was to the whole idea! Just thinking about being on television or speaking made me want to faint! That's how crazy the whole notion was to me ... and now I'm 'eating my words'... :)

In fact, I still resisted the whole notion of speaking or being on television ... but two things happened: 1. someone had insisted that I give a talk on NDEs and that all I had to do was speak from my heart—whatever came to me and 2. Spirit would not allow me to say 'no' to these requests! Twice I was asked to be on Channel 4 News in Nashville and hard as I tried to refuse, my tongue was tied until I gave full permission to appear.

What I had to realise about all this is that, despite my fear and inhibitions about being visible in the public eye (I'd rather be INvisible; that's why I do radio!), I was serving the greater good by allowing myself to speak and be on the news. Alas, it wasn't like being on a big-time TV programme, granted, but it was still huge for one who's extremely timid of the camera and public visibility!

I thought of PMH ... and the fact that she had told me that it was meant to be that I was in Nashville to do this work ... and she was the perfect role model that enabled me to feel strong, move forward and flow into this.

It was in Nashville—of all places—that I had my 'coming out' as an NDEr; i.e., not only admitting that I am a multiple NDEr, but actually doing public service centred in the NDE—speaking, writing, facilitating support and interest group meetings, being featured in various media and ultimately hosting my own radio show! Who'd-a-thunk-it?, as the saying goes!

Mind you, I'm not a pro-speaker like PMH Atwater or others who do lots of travelling and give talks all over the place on NDEs, but I do give presentations periodically and no longer resist the call to do so. In fact, I'll be speaking here in Virginia Beach on 6 September at the Virginia Beach IANDS meeting at the Edgar Cayce ARE Centre and I still think of PMH every time I'm booked to speak. Her loving encouragement has granted me the strength to boldly come forward and just do it!

It is quite striking how much PMH and I have got in common, but there are differences as well. One huge difference is that, where it took me over 20 years before I started this work centred in NDEs, PMH was catapulted right into NDE research only a year after her three NDEs in 1977 ... and this ultimately resulted in the writing of her book, Coming Back to Life. However, things were very rough—even traumatic for PMH. She was met with severe opposition in the early days. In her own words, she states:

"I still find discussing the reprint of my first book, Coming Back to Life (revised edition just out through Transpersonal Publishing) a challenge. After all, it was my first attempt to write about my research and in order to do that I had to stand 'naked' in the sense of taking a huge risk talking about the protocol I used (police investigative techniques) and baring all about myself and what I found.

I was 'fried' for writing that book. You would think, as did I at the time, that conservative religious folk would pounce on me for writing it—as I told the story of the near-death experience as it had never been told before. Wrong. I had no problem whatsoever with fundamentalists or conservatives. It was with my peer group and fellow researchers. I had stepped out of line (without knowing so) and had committed some 'errors'. First, I was a woman (in those days that mattered, and don't believe anyone who says it didn't); I was an experiencer and who believes an experiencer is capable of objective research; I did not have a degree of any kind (had to scurry afterward to pick up a doctorate—which I did in Canada—took me several years). But the most grievous 'error' was, I told the whole story—about hellish experiences as well as heavenly, about how psychic people tended to become afterward, about children's episodes, about suicides, about physiological after-effects and a much deeper look at the psychological after-effects, about depressions and divorce, and how most experiencers were deeply challenged by what they went through, and on and on.

...After seven years of almost constant attacks against me and a winter of tears, I knuckled down, worked harder, did more. Book after book followed, about my continued findings—some of which have now been clinically verified. I get butterflies in my stomach talking about the book, not just because I hit the 'wall' with it, but because a brief version of my own three near-death experiences is in Chapter Two, and some of my own challenges as an experiencer, sprinkled throughout the book. Coming Back to Life is very personal to me. Talking about it to people ... on radio shows is a new experience, one that brings butterflies to roost in my stomach.

...Miracles come in all shapes and sizes, even in the colour black that heartaches sometimes paint, and depression and disaster sometimes wear. That book also guaranteed me a spot in the Dutch study of near-death experiences that electrified the world, and it started a chain of people, thousands of them (and that's no exaggeration), who flooded me with thank-yous afterward, saying 'Your book saved my life'.

Who would have known? I still get goose-bumps just touching the book."

These are just some of the examples of what has set PMH as a most significant role model in my life as a fellow experiencer, researcher and facilitator. However the main difference between us is that I was, indeed, a very late bloomer—still being well hidden in the closet, as it were, and not entering into this work until the beginning of the millennium. And even after the NDE has become a household word, I, too, am sometimes met with opposition and setbacks. But I will no longer be daunted ... thanks to the examples set by PMH and others who've come before me.

PMH was not given the choice to stay on the Other Side ... or remain silent once she returned to this plane. She was given a specific assignment during her third NDE and there was no refusing it. The very same thing was true for me.

Again, this is all about the sharing of love and truth—whatever format we may be called to present it in—and the fact that this was my assignment—and PMH's—whilst on the Other Side: to share the fact that we live forever and that there is NO death! It is because of the actual experience ... and not mere hypothesis ... that enables people like PMH Atwater, myself and a host of others, to speak from authority and make this powerful declaration. Life IS eternal! YES, indeed it is! And what peace of mind can be granted to countless individuals from the comforting realisation that people who've BEEN there can attest that death is, indeed, an illusion and there's nothing whatever to fear.

P.M.H. Atwater, L.H.D., Ph.D. (Hon.)

Born in Twin Falls, Idaho, Atwater married young and became a mother of three, Sunday School teacher, secretary, and prize winning cook. A handwriting analysis in the mid-sixties led to a complete career and life-style change. She was redirected into public service and innovative project development and analysis. Paralleling this change she began intensive research into paranormal and altered states of consciousness.

With a professional background in hypnotic past-life regressions, sensitivity work, de-haunting houses, and mediumship, she came to specialise in aura massage, astrology, numerology, dream and symbol interpretation, rune casting, divinatory and earth energy sensing.

1977 set the stage for severe health traumas resulting in death and the near-death phenomenon, three times in three months. The following year,

In an effort to understand what had happened to her and was still happening, she began to seek out and interview other near-death survivors. Her book, Children of The New Millennium, a major study of child experiencers of near-death states, came out August 1999 from Three Rivers Press. It was then enlarged and rewritten as The New Children and Near-Death Experiences (Inner Traditions/Bear & Co., 2003). With the help of David Morgan, she produced the world's first positive/negative, 360-degree compendium of the entire near-death phenomenon. Some of her findings have now been clinically verified in prospective studies, the latest in "The Lancet" medical journal 15.12.01, in the paper by Pim van Lommel, a Dutch cardiologist. She has lectured twice at the United Nations and at many other gatherings, large and small. Her writings have appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers. She has been on such television talk shows as Sally Jessy Raphael, Larry King Live, Entertainment Tonight, Regis & Kathy Lee, Geraldo, and The Shirley Show in Canada.

An accomplished rune caster specialising in the yin or feminine approach to rune use, she authored The Magical Language of Runes, (1990 Bear & Co.) and Goddess Runes (1996 Avon Books). Her talent with Goddess Runes was featured on the first two television informercials produced by Psychic Friends Network. She attended Boise State University, Boise, Idaho, and received her humanities doctorate in 1992 from the International College of Spiritual and Psychic Studies (Spiritual Sciences Fellowship), Montreal, Canada. In March, 2005, P. M. H. Atwater, L.H.D. was awarded an Honorary Ph.D. in Therapeutic Counselling from Faculty of Medical Studies, Medicina Alternativa Institute, affiliated with The Open International University for Complementary Medicines, Colombo, Sri Lanka. And in the fall of 2005 she was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists and the "Outstanding Service Award" from the International Association of Near-Death Studies.

A Profound Message of the Triumph of Love

When I signed off the air after the sheer honour of having Cathy O'Brien and Mark Phillips on Toward The Light on 13^th July, I was left in a total state of awe and wonder. I was so high as a result of the content of our dialogue and the love that was shared from beginning to end, I had to give myself time to take it all in and assimilate it. I felt such peace ... such joy ... and a deep satisfaction—realising that this is what I was still on this plane for ... and what Toward The Light is all about: sharing the truth that, no matter what, love does indeed prevail, regardless of the greatest adversity—rising above all odds—and being triumphant in the Light!

In fact, this show reminded me of having a spiritually transformative experience (STE) where one experiences being one with All that Is and with all life ... and I'd venture to say that, indeed, it was an STE—probably for all three of us! We continued in our communion and telepathic dialogue, even long after the show had ended, and the love was over-flowing.

It is true that the dark ones, the Shadow People, are still trying to inflict their dark agenda on the world, but they're also desperate and running scared, because of the fact that people all over the world are waking up en masse! And, the more people who are exposed to this tremendous message that we're now sharing, the quicker the dark ones will be diverted and stopped completely. As Cathy has so rightly pointed out, they're flat thinkers who cannot fathom the power of the human spirit and of love. So their thinking is flawed at best and they cannot possibly fulfil their agenda. Only clear knowledge and truth, which is centred in love, can be implemented and fulfilled completely.

On the show, all of us were expressing gratitude for these horrific and traumatic experiences that we've all endured, (yes, I have endured many as well, believe me...), because of the fact that it allowed living examples of the truth and power of love—to show that love does intervene and lift us out of the clutches of fear and darkness once and for all.

What is there to fear when you know that you cannot die or be destroyed? And that's precisely why so many precious souls have survived the unspeakable and have been able to share their profound experiences and the simple truth, once again, that love does and will, indeed, prevail.

It was such a joy to have two guests—both friends—on Toward The Light on 22 June. I've known Martha St. Claire for a few years and we've worked side-by-side in our endeavours to bring more awareness of the NDE into the mainstream and I see how it's definitely made in impact in recent years. The passion for the work is apparent when you hear Martha speak about her NDE and the special path and calling that has ensued as a result. The heart just bursts wide open and the love is undeniable. I never fail to be moved to tears when conversing with a fellow experiencer like Martha.

I was having such a lovely interview and dialogue with my special guest, Cindy Miller, on Sunday, 15 June, when suddenly the lines went dead. Blip!—and it was gone. I rang BBS Radio to find out what had happened and Don informed me that the power had just gone out, due to fires raging in their region in northern California, and just a couple of days prior to that, everyone at BBS Radio had to evacuate as the fires loomed closer and closer to their facility. What a week it has been for BBS Radio!

Alas, we did manage to get close to an hour’s worth of dialogue on the air with Cindy and it was such a delightful one indeed. In fact, after we were cut off, Cindy rang me on my mobile and we continued our wonderful dialogue for probably another hour!

We both acknowledged that this untimely event was meant to be—albeit, at a most awkward time—but we were able to share a lot between us and realise just how much we’ve got in common.

Being a radio show host has granted me the richest treasure of friends that one could ever imagine ... and I cannot tell you how deeply grateful I am for this, oh BIG time!

We’ll have to have Cindy back on the show, so we can complete our dialogue for our listeners to enjoy and find enrichment. Courageous Souls Indeed!

For months I've been anticipating having Robert Schwartz on Toward The Light (see blog below). He is the author of the splendid book, Courageous Souls: Do We Plan Our Life Challenges Before Birth?, which addresses the possibility of one's soul planning the challenges and suffering that one is faced with during one's incarnation on this plane. Here is an excerpt taken from the prologue:

An Experience of True Knowing

I knew that having JM (Jonathan) Harrison--author of We Are All One—on Toward The Light would be special, and, indeed, it was. In spite of having an ‘average’ upbringing that also included typically being discouraged away from trusting or using his innate intuition, he, nonetheless, had numerous experiences that were beyond the confines of the physical five-sensory world people often refer to as ‘reality’.

In 2002, whilst at dinner with his wife and two other friends, JM suddenly fell into a deep trance and started channelling information that was very powerful, relevant and meaningful. Then in 2007, he underwent a near-death experience. What was interesting about this is that he wasn’t ill at all; he simply collapsed onto the floor, leaving his wife in a state of shock and grave concern. Whilst out-of-body and hovering above, he was able to hear her thoughts and realised that he needed to return to this plane for the sake of his wife and children.

A few days later, he sat down and started writing ... for six days straight—having little awareness of what was being written, as if a force greater than him was doing the writing. “I didn’t choose the words,” he stated. “The words chose me.” And yet he acknowledges this wisdom as coming from his true Self—that which he tapped in to and experienced during his NDE and STEs (spiritually transformative experiences). As a result of these experiences, he was able to know the absolute truth that we are all One—hence the title of his book.

During the show, we discussed the fact that he could have had the NDE solely for the sake of gleaning the wisdom he did and to share it with others—to be yet another messenger of truth that one can only come to know through such deep and direct experiences. Hearing all of this made me glow inside. What a gift, indeed!

Jonathan is currently working on a second book centred on the fact that consciousness does not come from the physical human brain, but rather is something stemming from the Universal Consciousness.

As more and more individuals—from mystics to enlightened physicists—are conveying this very truth, as well as the fact that we do not lose consciousness when our physical bodies die, more and more people will be freed of the stranglehold of the fear of death and the belief that human beings merely slip into a deep void of nothingness and oblivion when death takes their bodies.

JM pointed out how vitally important it is to have an open mind and to put the ego aside and not allow it to control or dominate our thinking and the goals or dreams that we pursue in this life journey. Love must be at the helm of these pursuits always.

I do encourage you to read his book, We Are All One, and see for yourself the pure essence of that love and oneness that one comes to know through such experiences. It is there for everyone to experience and know from the deepest stratum of ones being, not just a few ‘privileged’ individuals.

More Positive Strides in the Realm of Science & Metaphysics

It was truly an honour having Mario Beauregard, PhD as my special guest on Toward The Light. I realised what a ‘small world’ it is as he mentioned people in his book and during the show that I know: Drs. Peter Fenwick and Pim van Lommel—both of whom have been on Toward The Light.

What’s interesting is that Mario is currently working with these physicians in project studies centred in NDEs and consciousness and proving its existence outside of the physical brain. Of course, when I had Drs. Peter & Pim on my show last fall, they did attest to the fact that these projects were now under way, so it was nice to connect with yet another individual who’s working in concert with them and they’re making great strides in the study of consciousness and the soul.

These are men I’ve got great respect for. They’re not being ‘narrow-minded fundamentalists’ with their myopic mind-set who are stuck ‘inside the box’ and who refuse to broaden their vision to embrace a truth that, to many of us, is so glaringly obvious! I commend them for their courage and forthrightness in honouring the higher calling in the pursuit of truth rather than that of status.

We are not biological robots, as Mario points out, or body computers as David Icke refers to them. We are divine beings who animate the body-computer. PMH Atwater, a fellow NDEr and researcher, has also pointed this out in her books and articles. And let us not forget Claude Swanson, PhD, author of the book, Synchronized Universe, who was recently on Toward The Light—a physicist who's also liberating science out of the darkness of denial and into the light!

These are people I hold very dear to my heart and am ever so grateful to them for helping to shed the light on a complex world that some still deem is ‘flat’!

Bridging the Gap Between Science & Metaphysics

It was such a delight to have Dr. Claude Swanson back on Toward The Light. It is really thanks to him that I’ve got this radio programme in the first place. A mutual acquaintance in Arizona introduced us to each other back in 2005 and this resulted in a real turning point in my life.

As an NDEr and one who’s been a mystic who ‘resides primarily on the right side of my brain’, it was a joy to connect with someone who could validate and explain the truths of what we mystics have known and experienced for thousands of years and put it neatly into scientific terms that are compelling and that which can reach the realm of and make sense to the logical or linear thinker.

We conversed on the telephone for quite some time and hit it off straight away. He sent me a copy of his book, Synchronized Universe and, as heavy as the large book is, I could not put it down. I was jumping up and down like a giddy, excited child as I was reading the pages within—complete with photos, illustrations, graphs, and other diagrams—that clearly explain and put together what I struggle to grapple and find words for, because of the nature of these lofty experiences. He puts it beautifully in a lay language that is very easy to understand and follow.

Connecting with Claude was beneficial to both of us, because he was able to ‘pick my brain’ and ask me questions about my own experiences—not the least of which were my NDEs, of course, plus my life-long experiences as a mystic with the use of telepathy, visions, lucid as well as prophetic dreams, remote viewing and more. I’ve even done levitation in past. Alas, these are all topics that he covers in his book as the 'New Science of the Paranormal'.

The conversations were always lively, stimulating and positive—both of us eager to learn as much as we could ... and to help provide clear explanations about these phenomena to others.

In January 2006, Claude rang me and invited me to be a guest on his radio show—named after his book, Synchronized Universe. Mind you, it was on very short notice, as the show was to air that very evening, but I opted to do it. He interviewed me about my NDEs and other mystical experiences and there was never a shortage of thought-provoking content to share with the listeners, that’s for sure! It was nice to blend the scientific with the mystical or metaphysical and find that they both harmonised very well. Of course, I was speaking with a more aware and enlightened scientist and that makes all the difference in the world!

As stated before, after the show aired, Don Newsom (of BBS Radio) was so impressed with my delivery and what I had to share ... that he invited me to host my own radio show. Thus, Toward The Light was born on 6 March 2006 with PMH Atwater as my first guest and the rest is history.

I continue to feel such gratitude to Claude for this auspicious turn of events that led, not only to our mutual sharing of important material, but also to the birth of my own radio programme that’s been on the air for over two years now. I’m so passionate about the show and very excited about anything that will help remove the stigma round these topics that are really as natural as breathing and are an innate part of our make-up.

Once Claude completes the second volume of his book, he’s indicated that he does plan to resume his own radio show, which will be a tremendous service to the masses. It is time to honour the bridge-builders who are linking science and metaphysics together in a marriage centred in harmony and truth.

Dr. Claude V. Swanson on Toward The Light 11 May!

Dr. Claude Swanson was educated as a physicist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Princeton University. During those years he worked at the MIT Science Teaching Center, Brookhaven National Laboratory and a Virginia cyclotron. At Princeton he received the National Science Foundation Fellowship and Putnam Fellowship. His Ph.D. thesis at Princeton was done in the 'Gravity Group', which focuses on experimental cosmology and astronomy, and was headed by Nobel laureate Robert Dicke.

Swanson conducted postgraduate work at Princeton and Cornell Universities on the design of superconducting plasma containment vessels for fusion energy systems. He then began work for Aeronautical Research Associates of Princeton, a consulting company, and later formed his own consulting company which carried out studies in applied physics for commercial and governmental agencies, including DuPont, United Technologies, the U.S. Army and Navy, DARPA and the CIA, among many others.

For the last fifteen years, interspersed with his conventional professional career in applied physics, Dr. Swanson has pursued investigations into 'unconventional physics'. His principal interest has been unified field theory, the so-called 'Theory of Everything' which could explain the universe at the deepest possible level. This has led him to investigate many aspects of the paranormal, which appear to be completely real phenomena which violate our present science. Paranormal phenomena, which have now been proven in the laboratory in many cases, offer a window into the deeper universe, the mysteries of consciousness, and unlock new forces and principles which conventional science has only begun to glimpse. He is the author of the book, Synchronized Universe.

This brilliant book covers such topics as remote viewing, ESP, telepathy, levitation, NDEs, OBEs, inter-dimensional reality, group consciousness, teleportation, mind over matter and more. A Great Show with James Gilliland

Having James Gilliland on my show was very much an honour and something I was truly looking forward to. Throughout the dialogue, it was clear that we were both very much ‘on the same page’ and it was a joy to speak with someone with whom I could so deeply resonate.

As fellow NDErs, it’s not uncommon to be catapulted onto a path of deep service to others ... as a result of the near-death episode. We never see or regard things in the same way after an episode—ever!

As James felt the intense sense of purpose and a responsibility to fulfil an important calling during his NDE, he opted to return to the 3D world; whereas I never volunteered to return, but was informed that I needed to—for the same reason as James. Of course I had to oblige—as much as it broke my heart to have to return to this plane! And, yes, I do find great joy in fulfilling this mission and I’m still doing it!

These callings are rarely, if ever, motivated by the quest for £$. In fact, if one chooses to pursue £$, the motive does not arise from the near-death episode, but from the perspective of the ego that cultivates such a pursuit, so let’s make no mistake about the motives behind such pursuits. Those of us who have got such callings as these tend to be very passionate about them—whether or not £$ is involved. I’m always grateful for any donations that come in, but quite frankly, £$ isn’t, nor has it ever been, the driving force behind any of my work. It’s the love and the sheer goodness that is shared with others that is the driving force, here.

When James was describing his NDE and being enveloped in that all-encompassing unconditional love of the Light, I kept nodding my head with total understanding of what he was referring to. When one has experienced the sheer bliss of unconditional love, it is very natural to want to share it with everyone! And the truth is: it’s possible for everyone to experience and know this love from the very depth of ones being. As I pointed out during the show, it’s a shame that ‘unconditional love’ has become such a cliché, but it is something that is so valid and real just the same. There is a tremendous knowing that comes with such experiences—a knowing that never fades over time.

One’s entire demeanour changes completely when one has truly experienced the state of unconditional love and being enveloped in that pure light so often mentioned by NDErs. And, alas, there are truly no words that could ever describe the magnitude of what such an experience entails. You just know that perfect oneness with All That IS and with that, there is no sense of fear or lack whatever! That’s why there’s a natural yearning for us experiencers to want to share this state with others—however we can do—and to let everyone know that we can never be separated from the LightSource or from one another, because, indeed, we are all One!

This is the ‘stuff’ of our experiences ... and our work. It is something that I hope, in time, will permeate the entire psyche of the human species, so that all fear can and will be dissipated and replaced with love.

James is on an amazing journey where he shares the wisdom gleaned from his NDE and other powerful experiences in his life. He's shared the fact, for example, that we occupy a tiny speck of one in countless universes/multiverses and the countless lifeforms that exist throughout them. With this, too, he is committed to eliminating the tendency to regard other lifeforms with fear and trepidation. Most of them are very benevolent and centred in love. It was such an honour having Joanna Garzilli on Toward The Light—especially given that she'd been feeling quite rough all week, with a high fever and needing to rest ... so she was very kind to come on and share with the listeners as she did, in spite of such short notice and still not feeling well.

It was clear that we've got much in common—both in our vocations as intuitive practitioners and the goal to help teach others to use and trust their own intuition. As we shared in dialogue together—both on and off the air—I believe we each found comfort in each other's mutual commitment to this special work to not only remove the stigma associated with being 'psychic', but also to help educate, heal and empower the masses with awakening their own innate wisdom and awareness that come from the soul.

As was pointed out during the show, everyone is intuitive by nature, but sadly have been conditioned out of it—usually at a very young age. Now, however, as more and more people are finally awakening, they're starting to realise how important and necessary it is to put their intuition to good use on a daily basis. Not only that, it's very natural to be intuitive; there's nothing 'woo-woo' about it! You just see; you just know; you're just aware ... and that's all there is to it. It's allowing yourself to be aware with the whole of your being, not merely being limited to five-sensory perception.

I was introduced to Joanna as a result of a teleconference that was held last week where Joanna was speaking with Heidi Hockman—a lovely lady that I'm acquainted with who lost her vision four years ago—and the conversation was centred on how Heidi was now having to use and rely on her own intuition all the more, now that she could no longer see with her eyes. What's interesting is that Heidi was acknowledging that she could 'see' far better as a result of using her 'third eye' than when she used her physical eyes. She's far less distracted and a lot more perceptive and aware, being able to see the things that truly matter now. This dialogue was so compelling and exciting to me, indeed. What better opportunity to validate the importance of using our intuition to help us navigate more easily in our lives and to enjoy the gift of discernment than using the example of those of us who are blind and visually impaired?

I had to jump on this one! I finally spoke up and acknowledged these two wonderful women and the tremendous information that they were sharing. Then, when I got the word that my guest who'd originally been scheduled for this week's show had to cancel, I jumped on the opportunity to invite Joanna onto the show. There was something so auspicious about all this—lots of synchronicity here—and the timing couldn't have been more perfect!

Jenny Smedley On Toward The Light

On 20 April I had the honour of interviewing Jenny Smedley on Toward The Light. This was a most remarkable show where the two hours just flew by as we spoke about some amazing content.

Jenny had suffered from depression for quite some time—which also included recurring and terrifying nightmares. She was very happily married—and still is—and everything seemed in perfect order. Yet she could not seem to figure out what the root cause of her depression was—something that even caused her to wish, at times, that her life would end.

She described the powerful events that led to the discovery of the cause of her depression: unresolved issues from a past life! She divulged the intricate details of the past life that had triggered severe nightmares and feelings of hopelessness and a lack of meaning or purpose in her current life.

One day, whilst still very depressed and unhappy, she was walking through a shopping mall, when she suddenly heard a song that quite haunted her. A short while in future, she was looking upon a bottle of pills sitting on her coffee table and decided against taking them in an attempt to end her life. She flung the pills all about and then suddenly heard a voice from within say, 'Switch on the TV'. Thinking, 'well okay, why not?', she switched on the telly where she suddenly beheld a man's face on the screen. Looking at those penetrating blue eyes changed her life at that very instant.

She couldn't understand why she was suddenly changed, but indeed, she was and she knew it. The depression lifted and the nightmares also disappeared. The man in question was a recording artist and Jenny had just caught what was the beginning of a concert on TV. The timing was absolutely perfect. She'd never been keen on country music—as is the case with most people in the UK, but she felt compelled to view and listen to the entire concert. And one of the songs performed was called The Dance—the very song she'd heard at the shopping mall!

What was the significance of this country recording artist and why (or how) was it that this individual had the power to completely change the course of Jenny's life forever? I'll allude to the fact that, through a series of past-life regressions, Jenny found out that she and this individual were married in a past life. In that life, his name was Ryan and that's who she kept calling out to in her nightmares! The man in question is ... Garth Brooks. She was able to accurately retrieve all of the names, dates and locations involved in this past life that took place in the 1600s, as a result of her past-life regressions and research. It's all been verified and is documented in her brilliant book.

Furthermore, what's so interesting about all this is that I was very much in the same circles as Garth Brooks whilst living in Nashville! And here's another interesting point: Jenny had always been terrified of flying ... but somehow mustered the courage to finally fly (for the first time) to Nashville to meet Garth in 1999—the same year that I moved to Nashville! I moved there in January of that year.

Yes, she did meet Garth and, yes, he recognised her straight away and gave her a huge embrace. (See book cover.) Again, you must read her book and listen to this show!

Oh, and something else that's very interesting here is the fact that Nashville In Harmony, the choral group I was in whilst in Nashville, sang a powerful song by Garth Brooks, We Shall Be Free, at the Ryman Auditorium. We sang there on 9^th July 2006. Funnily enough, I've never even heard the original version of it that Garth produced—only the version that the choir sang.

That's what I mean about how auspicious all this is—how kindred spirits have, indeed, been brought to me as a result of producing this radio show. And we keep coming to realise what a small world it is in so many ways.

Pay attention when you see or encounter someone who seems oddly familiar to you—regardless of ones role and status. And pay attention to the synchronicities that occur in your life. It just might be that you're connecting with someone who's been with you in a past life...

Greetings Everyone!

I decided that, since my radio show has become so popular and that these blogs are quite visible on the Net, I thought it time to have one completely dedicated to my radio show, Toward The Light!

Toward The Light airs live every Sunday at 2P PT/5P ET/10 UK on BBSRadio.com and has been broadcasting for slightly over two years now. I am in such awe of the kindred spirits who've come into my life as a result of producing this show. The stellar roster of guests I've had (see side panel and images below) have been nothing short of absolutely tremendous and I am so deeply grateful for everyone who's been on TTL and those yet to come.

My heartfelt thanks to my guests and listeners alike. All of you are very special and it is such an honour to share with you.
